Programming Center / Skyvision HITS 2 Home 4DTV Service has ended. Programming Center (SRL / Skyvision) and the H2H 4DTV X4 platform has ended in the summer of 2016. All is not lost though... just time to upgrade to the Rainier Satellite HD platform. Movie channels, Superstations, Sports, Family, Variety, and more cable channels are now available for the Cisco Rainier D9865H receiver in pure Master HD. More about the 4DTV shutdown. In the summer of 2016 Comcast HITS the provider of transport for the 4DTV services upgraded their platform to a new modulation method not served by the 4DTV. Programming Center inquired about an upgrade for continuation of service and the new hardware needed. They were told NO by Comcast and Arris (Motorola). There would be no more support for them once the change was made. Rainier Satellite knew about this going to transpire as far back as 2013 while exploring options to get big dish programming up and running again. This is why they went with the Cisco PowerVu platform. Many don’t know the inside story but it appears that dirty monies were paid to Motorola by a specific small dish company (Dish Network) to bury the 4DTV to promote expansion of their small dish empire.>> SAY NO TO THE LITTLE DISH. The future of the 4DTV subscription is dark now, but its not time to throw out your 4DTV yet. The 4DTV is an excellent dish mover / polarity contoller. It works well with the Rainier Cisco receiver for Master HD subscription programming being offered now by Rainier Satellite.
While it seems like tough times for C band diehards that is nothing further than the truth. C band is now once again in its infancy, just like back in its humble beginings. The original fathers of satellite such as Bob Cooper (now retired), have been replaced by a few new pioneers with the desire and drive that saw what was needed to be done to make it happen again. Rainier Satellite is owned and operated by those new c band pioneers. Bob Scharmann, Rainiers President, and Glen Musielak, VP/ Technical Director have worked hard to get us where were at today. They promise to continue to work hard to continue build C band back up where it should be again.
